Player of the Year points will be awarded weekly. These points are earned by the low 12 gross scores. Eight man teams are filled based on the top point winners and captain picks. We will again field two regular teams and one senior team (50+ in age). If you are interested in participating please let us know ASAP. The club championship will be the last chance to earn points for player of the year. Points will be awarded for the first round score, second round score, and total championship score. Anyone in the hunt can make a huge push by playing well in the club championship.
The Mountain Dell Club Championship is scheduled for Thursday August 19 (round one) and Saturday August 21 (round two). Participants will play round 1 on Thursday with his regular weekly group. Saturday’s round 2 will be an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start followed by an awards banquet during which lunch and drinks will be served. The pairings for round two will be based on the player’s first round score.
The 2009 Match Play Championship was very successful. We hope those that participated in last year’s event will again participate this year and also those whom didn’t will in 2010. We will be hosting a draft party on May 27 at the Mountain Dell Grill. Appetizers’ and drinks will be served and are included in your entry fee.
Our goal at Mountain Dell is to provide you a great golfing experience in a competitive, low stress environment. Handicapping will remain the same. After 3 rounds players will have a league handicap. Your UGA handicap has no influence on your league handicap. Handicaps are updated weekly and are solely based on league scores. This eliminates sandbagging and everyone should win throughout the year. Players are responsible to post scores into the UGA computer at his discretion we will not post scores for you.
The Mountain Dell staff would like to express our appreciation to all of our men’s association members for your loyalty and contributions you make not only to Mountain Dell but also its’ men’s association. We are looking forward to another great year for Mountain Dell and the Men’s Association and look forward to seeing you on a regular basis.
Sincerely,
